Born-Again Runner . . . sort of
Backgrounder, dated January 9, 2004: I'm in my 62nd year, having carried 242 to 246 pounds on my 6'1-1/2" frame for too many years. My high-school weight was 176, so I could drop up to 70 pounds, if I could. Today, I ran for the first time in years, almost three minutes--twice! I've been born again. Alleluia!

WALK 60 MINUTES TO LAKEFRONT

The cold is leaving me, except for a deep cough that, thankfully, is infrequent. Figured I better just walk to complete, he said hopefully, the recovery.

CALORIES: 1,932 eaten, 3,131 burned, down 1,199 for the day!

I made no effort "to diet" today but managed to take in the fewest calories since I started counting. I had slice of bacon with my egg whites in the morning, and two glasses of wine with my fish in the evening, and still came way ahead.
