Born-Again Runner . . . sort of
Backgrounder, dated January 9, 2004: I'm in my 62nd year, having carried 242 to 246 pounds on my 6'1-1/2" frame for too many years. My high-school weight was 176, so I could drop up to 70 pounds, if I could. Today, I ran for the first time in years, almost three minutes--twice! I've been born again. Alleluia!

WALK 60 MINUTES TO LAKEFRONT

No jogging yet as I still have the occasional deep cough.

Calories eaten, 3,867, calories burned, 3,135, up (!) 732 calories for the day.

The belated Mother's Day barbeque at my brother-in-law's sure was tasty. As it's only the third time or so that I've been in the red in calories, I don't feel particularly guilty. And those ribs were superb!
