Born-Again Runner . . . sort of
Backgrounder, dated January 9, 2004: I'm in my 62nd year, having carried 242 to 246 pounds on my 6'1-1/2" frame for too many years. My high-school weight was 176, so I could drop up to 70 pounds, if I could. Today, I ran for the first time in years, almost three minutes--twice! I've been born again. Alleluia!

WALK/RUN 3/1 66 MINUTES ON LAKESHORE, 32 OUT, 34 BACK

It was too hot--27C--to push a bit on the way back for an even split.

I'm glad I seem to have gotten over all the issues with sore throats and whatnot and now am able to work out daily or almost daily. Thinking again about shifting the emphasis from walking/running to bicycling. Mainly because my focus is on losing weight rather than training for any event or distance.

CALORIES: 2,986 eaten 3,198 burned, down 212 for the day
