A friend ships out A young friend of mine is shipping out in the next couple of days for her second tour of duty in Iraq. During the Vietnam War it was all theory for me. I didn't personally know anybody involved. With Laurie and her husband going it is as real as it can get for someone who is waiting at home. Nothing could be more unfair than war in which some of us get to stay safe at home while others must risk their lives. I know she will to her best to do her job and I am very proud to know her.
