Microsoft to Share Office Software Code (Reuters). Reuters - Microsoft Corp. said on Sunday that it would share the underlying software code for its Office program as part of its efforts to make governments more confident in the security and compatibility of the world's largest software maker's products. [Yahoo! News - Technology]

Now just how many consultants will it take to read the source code?  And how many will actually care, since the biggest holes, outside of Exchange/Outlook/OE are really in the Windows source code, not the Office source code...

Not to be too cynical about this whole thing, but if Redmond is giving you something, then you can be sure it a) isn't what you asked for and b) isn't what you need.  Just look at the defaults in your system.

Tornadoes Pound Washington Region (washingtonpost.com). washingtonpost.com - What was left of Hurricane Ivan surged into the Washington region yesterday, creating charcoal gray skies, menacing tornadoes that tore the roofs off several houses and thunderstorms that forecasters say will probably last through this afternoon before heading off the Eastern Seaboard. [Yahoo! News - Top Stories]

Yup - like a tornado about a mile from where I type this little ditty.  Fortunately only million dollar houses were damaged and no lives were lost.
