What a week. A whole bunch of things that I can only scratch the surface on.
Pope leaves hospital following bout with flu (USATODAY.com).
USATODAY.com - Pope John Paul II left a Rome hospital in his white
popemobile Thursday, 10 days after suffering breathing spasms that left
him bedridden and rekindled debate about his ability to continue
leading the Roman Catholic Church. [Yahoo! News: Top Stories]
While I am not a Christian, you have to wonder if the job for life
that is the Pope needs some serious consideration. It is no mystery
that when one gets old, one looses the ability to fuction at the top of
their game. That is fine for those that are grandparents, but directing
the fate of millions, as the pope does, this is not kosher. Add to that
the fact that when he does die, the entire direction of the church will
change, throwing current Christians into turmoil.
North Korea Demands Two-Way Talks, U.S. Refuses (Reuters).
Reuters - North Korea demanded bilateral talks with the United States
over its nuclear weapons program but Washington quickly rejected the
idea on Friday and insisted Pyongyang return to six-party negotiations.

Oh, well here is a big surprise. Iraq did not have weapons of mass
distruction, but North Korea does and everyone knows it. Now the US is
refusing to discuss the issue?! Where are the troops Bush?
Bush Threatens to Veto Medicare Changes (AP).
AP - President Bush, faced with complaints from Republicans as well as
Democrats about higher cost estimates for a new Medicare drug benefit,
said Friday he would veto any attempt to change the law. [Yahoo! News: Top Stories]
A benefit to the drug companies is at risk, so of course he is going
to veto it. You expected anything else? If it actually benefitted
someone, it would never have been passed.
MS security chief says Windows is safer than Linux. Also: Man accused of trying to set up suicide. [News.com Extra] [CNET News.com]
Yeah, that is why Microsoft released 5 critical and dozens of important patches in the last 48 hours.
Things I could not find links for include another $900 billion for
the tsunami (why? and where are you getting the money from?). $800
billion for the war in Iraq. Bring the troops home. It's over. They had
their elections. Oh, but the US does not control the oil fields.
And finally, congratulations to HRH Prince Charles and his long time love Camillia. No, she should not be Queen.
