Laptop with 98,000 names stolen at UC-Berkeley. Officials at the University of California, Berkeley, are notifying more than 98,000 graduate students and applicants about the theft of a laptop computer containing their names, Social Security numbers and other personal data. [Computerworld News]
I keep asking this question - why was the data on a laptop in the first place?

Understand that this was supposed to stop the implementation. It was not a draft or a guidance document. Too bad TSA does not understand that. The program failed to meet 9 of 10 standards.
