From Slashdot: "Mike Bolesta of Baltimore thought he would protest Best Buy's not-so-great customer service and pay his bill with 57 $2 bills." http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/04/08/2213237
I don't know what is sadder. That Best Buy does not check for couterfeit bills with the pen that almost every retail store has, that they do not tell their people what to look for, or that the cashier was so young that they were unaware of what money is in circulation in the United States.
What I find most disturbing is that, in general, most people do not know how to deal with cash. Even though it is such a routine part of our day.
