High school suspends boy for wearing dress to prom. A high school senior who thought it would be funny to wear a dress to his prom was ticketed $249 for disorderly conduct, suspended ... [USATODAY.com Nation - Top Stories]

Sounds like the school needs mocking.

D.C. Scare Puts Alert System to the Test (AP). AP - The terror alert system in the nation's capital was put to the test by a small plane that flew within three miles of the White House, leading to the frantic evacuation of government buildings. [Yahoo! News: Top Stories]

Before you get all excited and start patting people on the back, you should know that people working a block (that's about 500 yards) from the north side of the White House, in government facilities, knew nothing about this unless they happened to have a radio on.  There was no evacuation notice, no hint of anything amiss.  System does not work, if saving lives is the what the system is designed to do.

National ID Battle Continues. Senators pass legislation that would standardize driver's licenses nationwide, but some of them do so reluctantly. Critics of the Real ID Act vow to continue fighting it. By Kim Zetter. [Wired News]

The Senate will complain and moan until the next big thing and then this will all go away.  The United States will have a national ID card and you will accept it!  More pity you.
