Seven of 10 Teachers Quit Mo. School (AP). AP - Seven of 10 classroom teachers in a tiny school district resigned after a colleague was fired for helping an 11-year-old girl who was left alone in a playground to pick up rocks as punishment. [Yahoo! News: U.S. National]
Is it just me or are there a bunch of bone heads running the public school system? Time to replace a lot of people in that district and give the teachers back their jobs.

Cold, Wet, Windy Spring Continues (AP). AP - Temperatures were only in the 40s or lower across much of the Northeast early Wednesday as a nor'easter spread rain and gusty wind through the region, continuing a gloomy spring just days before the traditional opening of summer. [Yahoo! News: U.S. National]
Yeah, and it is cold too. :-(

Hamming It Up at Radio Meets. When amateur radio operators, or hams, get together, the emphasis is on technology and gossip, not fashion. By Mark Baard. [Wired News]
OK, so fashion is not a focus for amateur radio operators. But I wouldn't want to worry about what they are wearing if it drops in the pot.

Schools to Teach Constitution on Sept. 17 (AP). AP - The Constitution long has ensured that Congress can't tell schools what to teach. But that's no longer the case for at least one topic — the Constitution itself. [Yahoo! News: U.S. National]
OK, so maybe the Congress over stepped itself by dictating a specific day when the Constitution should be covered, but I do not disagree that it should be covered and every student should know what it says, whether or not you agree with what it says. Unlike the drivel that is the Pledge of Allegiance, the Constitution dictates the fundamental ground rules for the government and management of the United States. Ground rules, which the current administration is playing fast and loose with.

Pepsi Gives U.S. the Finger. Pepsi's Indra Nooyi stirs things up in a speech. [The Motley Fool]
I do not own shares in PepsiCo. And I happen to agree with Nooyi. Her analogy of the hand works (even if you leave out Australia - no offense in tended there mates, I suspect you don't mind being left to your own devices sometimes). The United States is the middle finger. They are constantly badgering and berating the rest of the world with little care for the end results, rather than working with them to get things done.
If you feel insulted by that portion of her speech, then she made her point most admirably. Further, you don't get it, and never will.
