Personally, I have no confidence in either TSA's ability to secure the traveling public, or in the systems they are installing at an obscene amount of money. And frankly, until every piece of gear that goes into and out of an aircraft is screened, it won't matter what sort of security the traveling public has to go through, the aircraft is no safer.
