Delay for .xxx 'net sex' domain. Plans for a virtual red light district via the .xxx domain are delayed after concern from government officials. [BBC News | News Front Page | UK Edition]

The Commerce department is worried about comments from only 6000 people.  With over 4 billion on the planet, who cares?  If they are really worried about the issue, there are more realistic ways to combat it.

Babies Caught Up in 'No-Fly' Confusion (AP). [Yahoo! News: U.S. National]

In case you were wondering why the No-Fly list does not work and you were not convinced that being a United States Senator was enough, you may want to consider always consider carrying proper identification.  A passport is a good start.  Especially if you are under the age of two.

Experimental Hybrid Cars Get Up to 250 Mpg (AP). AP - Politicians and automakers say a car that can both reduce greenhouse gases and free America from its reliance on foreign oil is years or even decades away. Ron Gremban says such a car is parked in his garage.[Yahoo! News: Technology News]

The United States can put a man on the moon, invent the computer and manage to create some of the most impressive buildings known to man.  So why can it not come up with a vehicle that does not burn gasoline?  Or at least gets more than 10 miles to the gallon?  Let's face it - at a quarterly profit of 8 billion dollars, surely there is some money for research and development.

FCC Rules for VoIP E911 Rules Challenged (AP). AP - A provider of Internet phone calls is challenging new Federal Communication Commission rules requiring the company to ensure reliable 911 emergency call service. [Yahoo! News: Technology News]

Nope, sorry, this does not fly.  While generally, I find the FCC to be solidly marching behind the demands of business, in this case, they are right on the money.  If you are setting up a phone system, your first connection should be to the 911 system.  Worry about making money after you do that. It will save you from lawsuits later on.

After a long dry spell, aircraft are beginning to fail again.  I wonder what the root cause, if any, is?

Microsoft exec defends RSS rebranding. A Microsoft Network (MSN) executive is defending Microsoft's rebranding of RSS into "Web feeds" after a flurry of Microsoft bloggers accused the software giant of trying to recast the Web-site syndication technology in its own image. [Big ol' Network World Fusion feed]

Microsoft...taking over a successful open standard...what will happen next?  Reality time.  Microsoft will do whatever it wants.  People will use RSS/Atom and it will continue to work.  It will not work with whatever solution Microsoft decides to pervert...er...convert it into...much like DNS, DHCP, Kerberos...need I continue?

Sheehan's husband files for divorce. The husband of Cindy Sheehan, the California mother protesting the death of her son who was killed while serving with U.S. forces ... [USATODAY.com Nation - Top Stories]

Ironically, the question still remains - why is the United States fighting for democracy in Iraq while restricting it in the United States.  Clearly the issue is not about global stability, nor is it about disarmorment.  So just what is the United States doing?  And I do not for a minute believe it has anything to do with the so called war on terror.
