Career Firefighter Named New FEMA Director (AP). AP - President Bush has tapped a federal official with three decades of firefighting experience and a background in emergency management to be the new face of his administration's response to Hurricane Katrina and future natural disasters. Baby Born to Brain-Dead Va. Woman Dies (AP). AP - A 5-week-old baby, whose brain-dead mother had been kept on life support for three months to allow the child to be born, died early Monday after undergoing emergency surgery. [Yahoo!
