NASA Estimates Moon Rocket Will Cost $104B (AP). AP - NASA estimated Monday it will cost $104 billion to return astronauts to the moon by 2018 in a new rocket that combines the space shuttle with the capsule of an earlier NASA era. [Yahoo! News: Top Stories]

Does any nation need to spend money to put a man back on the moon?  Is there a purpose to this?  I can think of better uses for $104 billion.  Especially considering the United States governenment has already committed to spending close to $200 billion already this year in money it does not have to rebuild a city below water level and fight a war in a country that was quite happy not to even know were the United States was.
