D.C. Leaders Not Surprised MLB Will Seek Arbitration on Stadium. Unless seven D.C. Council members can come to an agreement, the lease for the new stadium won't come before the council until February. [WTOP / Local / Local Stories]
It is amazing really. The fans in the District and surrounding areas have fought and suffered so long to get a team (and the team they got did really well this year) and yet the city and all of its associated operations from the mayor to the Metro seem to be doing everything they can to keep the team from settling here permanently. If DC does not want baseball, why is everybody wasting so much time and money on this process. Send the Nats to Las Vegas. But never try and tell baseball again that DC deserves a team.
