COLUMBUS, Ohio - States are rushing to limit when and where people may protest at funerals — all because of a small Kansas church whose members picket soldiers' burials, arguing that Americans are dying for a country that harbors homosexuals. [Yahoo News]
I don't care what you feel about the war. There is a certain amout of respect that is due the dead. Any group that proports to represent a religious faction should know this. If the States are forced to limit protests at funerals, then as a nation, the United States has slipped even further.

Emergency Bill Could Determine Fate of D.C. Baseball. It looks like the D.C. Council will approve a stadium lease on Tuesday, clearing the way for baseball to stay in the District. [WTOP / Local / Local Stories]
Yet once more, the District of Columbia is trying, with all its might, to derail any hope of retaining a baseball team. If the District of Columbia does not want a baseball team, then let it go. Virginia, Portland and Las Vegas are all interested, ready and willing to give the Expos a home.

Poll: Adults Scoff at Homework Gripes (AP). WASHINGTON - Too much homework? Sorry, kids, the adults aren't buying it. Most parents say their children get the right amount of homework, and most teachers agree, according to an AP-AOL Learning Services Poll. Yahoo! News: Top Stories]
One of the more scary points is that there is any homework at all, given that most schools are trying to get their people through exams that make little sense or contain practical knowledge.
