Forbes Magazine recently estimated that there are about 1/2 a million same-sex couples in the US, of whom about 450,000+ would marry if it were legal throughout the country. This would generate, by their estimate, nearly $17,000,000,000 in revenue for the wedding industry, creating tens of thousands of jobs.
Set aside that it is the morally correct thing to do, set aside that the chidlren of these relationships will be better off, set aside the harm done by marginalizing queer couples, there's money to be made, damnit, where are the Republicans when you need them?
