Breastfeeding as protection against asthma
This study is getting some attention
Now Swedish researchers have followed over 4,000 babies from birth.
They found babies who were exclusively breastfed until four months of age had a significantly reduced risk of asthma. And the protection has lasted up to age four so far.
They also found continued partial breastfeeding after four months offered more protection.
And the breastfed babies who did get asthma had less severe disease.
