Welcome to Hell
Today, Sept. 17, is the day that starts the worst asthma week of the year. Canadian researchers think it could have something to do with the common cold.
Every year, during the third week of September, the number of asthmatic children heading to emergency rooms soars. Many children are wheezing and gasping so badly for breath that they must be hospitalized. The "September phenomenon," as doctors have dubbed it, is well established but the underlying cause for the annual epidemic has long baffled scientists.
My regular readers were already prepared for this news (see second entry).
