No pets allowed That's a new policy in an Alabama school district. Officials were worried about the air in the buildings.
"With today's indoor air quality issues, increasing rates of asthma and other health problems among our students, we believe that restricting animals within the building is in the best interest of our students," district spokesman John Williams said.
After Dec. 1, the only animals that will be welcome in classes here are fish, frogs, hermit crabs, butterflies and nonpoisonous insects.
It would be interesting to track whether this really has the desired effect of lowering asthma problems.
