Idaho Gov. Signs Bill Allowing Disabled Medicaid Beneficiaries To Work While Receiving Benefits. Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne (R) on Thursday signed a bill (HB 664) into law that allows Medicaid beneficiaries with disabilities to earn money and still qualify for coverage they would have lost under previous regulations, the Idaho Statesman reports (Idaho Statesman, 3/24). The bill, which was passed by the Legislature earlier this month, allows Medicaid beneficiaries with disabilities to work or increase their hours and pay premiums on a sliding scale, rather than lose coverage entirely (Kaiser Daily Health Policy Report, 3/16)... click link for more info. Republican Moderates Likely To Challenge House Budget Resolution Without Increased Spending For Health, Education Programs. Rep. Michael Castle (R-Del.) on Tuesday said that he will lead an effort by moderate Republicans to defeat the fiscal year 2007 House budget resolution unless House leaders agree to increase discretionary spending for health and education programs, CQ Today reports.
