Medicare Boss, McClellan, Expected To Resign From Post. Mark McClellan, who was responsible for the the launch of the new prescription program - Medicare prescription drug benefit - is expected to resign as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, according to The Dallas Morning News (Sunday edition). A spokesman for Medicare as well as a spokesman for the White House could not confirm or deny the report.McClellan was comissionaer of the FDA from 2002-2004. He is a docotor and a health economist.
