These are some the highlights of Barcelona[base ']s main festival held this week.
The correfoc, devils, dragons, fire and a lot of running and getting squashed to avoid getting burnt, el correfoc (the 23rd at 20.30).
The street parade (the 24th at 18.00) with Don Quixote as its central theme and also homage to Jules Verne
The daily fireworks on the Barceloneta beach (the 22nd, 23rd and 24th at 22.00)
The huge fireworks with live music (the 25th at 22.00) at the avenida de Maria Cristina,
Also check out the stages at Plaza de Catalunya, The Forum, Plaza San Jaume, Plaza de la Catedral, Plaza Reial for all the live music.
My protest note
Private companies sponsor most of these activities. We usually have a gymkhana every year. This year the telephone company Amena sponsors it.
It seems that if you have a mobile telephone of this company you will have a better chance of winning.
Very sad for those people who participate and use their constitutional rights to choose freely their way of life.
