Arts Ministry NW
Over the past year or so, for those of you who have been following this rather sporatic blog, I've been mulling the notion of a ministry to artists. To bring you up to date, we launched this venture at the Northwest Church in Seattle just last month. Since then, we've been praying for God to send artists of various disciplines our way, just so we can meet them, pray for them, and generally try to shore them up. Reserving the right to say we really have no idea what we're doing, we are stumbling ahead as best we can. I can honestly say that God has certainly brought people onto our radar that were not there before, and whenever a new person shows up I inevitably think, this person is a direct answer to prayer.
Just now, this ministry is simply trying to generate and revive "the conversation" in our particular fellowship about faith and art, and to that end, I can say that we are well on the way. I'm encouraged by the level of interest among our people, and hopeful that we can actually be of some help.
We hope to start an online forum within the next couple of weeks.
