Dick Staub Visits Arthur: The Hunt Check out the blog entry from Dick Staub, wherein he laments the lighter audiences that have been seeing (or not seeing, as the case may be) Arthur: The Hunt (which, by the way, closed Saturday night at Taproot). Dick called my play a "middlebrow" piece, "demanding" and "a challenge personally enriching...." He then uses the play as a stepping off point to discuss the loss of what he calls "middlebrow" culture. I think he's right, though I haven't really done much work with the term "middlebrow."
