Barnabie's Quest
Ok, I am well again! My cough is almost gone and I seem to have my Quitting cigarettes under control although I have gained some weight, 2 lbs so far. I weighed 145.5 on the 1st of Jan now I weigh 147.5 as of the 8th of Jan Oh well! I have been stitching all week on my Mermaid Heaven, I have one more hour to go and then I switch to my next project, Midsummer nights fairy by Mirabilia. I did some gridding for my freind Pat yesterday and today. It was only two lines but the pattern is very big, it's Villa Mirabilia.
Yesterday I joined a weekly stitching group at my LNS. The purpose is to get a UFO finished by the end of this year. It cost 3 dollars to regester each project. Here's how it worked for me:
I have a Just Nan called Barnabie's Quest that I never finished. and it's been sitting around for years so I decided to register it! I brought it in and Karen wrote out a list of of completion dates for my stitching. By the end of this month Jan 31, I must finish up to and including the saying "Sweet are the flowers that fill the fields" If I donot have that done it will cost me 1.50 fine for the month. If I do more than I was told to,it will cost me 1.50 fine too!
The whole pattern is broken down and recorded in a log book for each member as to how much is to be stitched and the finish dates. All I know is that I have to have my stitching done by the 31st or it's $1.50 fine!
The money that is collected....... All the members that are in good standing are tossed in a hat and a winner is picked! It may be alot of money and not many members! We have 13 members so far.
