Patent Trolls beware. . . .
Cnet reports today that A unanimous U.S. Supreme Court on Monday sided with eBay in an ongoing patent spat, handing down a ruling that could make it harder for some patent holders to force shut-offs of infringing products in the future.
The patent in question was related to eBay's "Buy-It-Now" feature.
In 2001, I worked for a number of patent holding companies reviewing patents for prior art in this exact area. Over the course of my 36 year career I've seen and been involved with many early-stage efforts and have the combination blessing and curse that I remember all of them!
I say if you want to patent something, good for you, but you'll have much better luck enforcing it if you invent something original!
