Attention. . .Attention. . .
Steve Gillmor, who I've known for more than 15 years now, has started http://www.AttentionTrust.org which is an organization devoted to what Steve thinks is the next generation of the web experience, browsing tailored based on what you've previously paid attention to.
The manifesto of AttentionTrust.org is that you can keep your attention data on your local machine and then give it only to those sites who honor the following rights:
Property
You own your attention and can store it wherever you wish. You have CONTROL.
Mobility
You can securely move your attention wherever you want whenever you want to. You have the ability to TRANSFER your attention.
Economy
You can pay attention to whomever you wish and receive value in return. Your attention has WORTH.
Transparency
You can see exactly how your attention is being used. You can DECIDE who you trust

As long as I'm thinking about Steve Gillmor, I want to acknowledge that Steve has gathered an outstanding group of people to filter and interpret the news. I once had the pleasure of helping him produce a Gang episode in the office of Sun President Jonathan Swartz. It's always entertaining and informative.
