I received a notice in the mail today informing me that I qualify for a professional subscription to NEWSWEEK with a 90% savings off the cover price. OK. But first, let's refresh my memory. (Unlike Brian Williams, I don't feel obligated to get my news from just anybody.) So I hit the web and look them up online and see what they offer in the way of reporting these days.
So first thing I notice is I'm redirected to an MSNBC domain, not good. And then I find this piece suggesting the Supreme Court is going through contortions of some kind to justify display of some ancient Biblical artifact that everybody loves, yet nobody can accurately quote.
Hmmm. Anything else? Culture blossoming in Afghanistan. Amputee soldiers are returning to the front line. Sigh. Thanks, but no thanks. [CNB]
"In an admittedly unscientific survey, our columnist could not find anyone able to name all 10 of the Ten Commandments. And that[base ']s the problem with the arguments about displaying them in public."
