A Georgia developer has filed an $11.5 million lawsuit against Pamlico County over its new Group Housing Ordinance. Wayne Tilson of Atlanta contends that he had vested rights in development of a planned gated condo community on Upper Neck Road, and should not have to adhere to the new ordinance, passed in June.

The state Attorney General's Office is now looking into the case of Chloe, the 5-pound therapy dog kicked out of a Weeki Wachee condo.

Last week, a judge handed down a ruling in a mortgage fraud case that has the press going crazy and the banks getting nervous.  A couple owned a condominium.  They did not have a mortgage.  One day, their tax bill arrived.  To their confusion, the name on the tax bill was not theirs.  So, they looked into it.  It turns out that their condo had been transferred to someone else, who had also taken out a mortgage for about $250,000.

In another case, a condominium association retained Peebles in early 2004 to bring a claim against its builder for defective construction. Although Peebles settled the case and received eight checks totaling more than $700,000, he never told his client about the settlement.
