CA: Council panel told tenant law not enforced The city's effort to protect tenants evicted because of condominium conversions hit another snag Tuesday when it was revealed that the city wasn't enforcing a 1981 law designed to help apartment dwellers. 12:21:29 PM

CA: Measure I Proposes Big Changes in Berkley's Condo Law The proposed new law would increase the allowable condominium conversion approvals from the current 100 units per year to 500 units. Presumably, then, the proposed new law would do two things: it would make condominium conversions easier at the same time it is making more of them possible. How a voter decides on this issue, therefore, may hinge in large part on whether the voter thinks more condominiums or fewer are best for Berkeley and its residents. 10:03:47 AM
