Ochoa, Chris Gastelum and others who live in the new subdivision have taken a long list of complaints to their homeowner's association: students hanging out in groups on their lawns, parking their cars so their vehicles block driveways, brawling, drinking beer or smoking pot and leaving trash on front yards.

People who live near the slide said they thought it was an earthquake. Firefighters told NBC11 they are most concerned about the condo complex above the slide. It has been red-tagged, according to Hurd. A red tag means no one can enter the home.

State lawmakers unveiled legislation Monday that would sharply restrict mobile home park owners who want to convert their parks to resident ownership, a trend that has alarmed local mobile home tenants, who fear rising rents will force them from their homes.
