Still Going North
Today we're going further North to Russell - which is where we'd wanted to be yesterday, but stopped short when realised that the shortest route involved a ferry . The sun is shining, the kettle's on and the grown ups are showered
After a stroll into Whangerei proper for coffee (and a fire engine toy for James), we stocked up on coffee and tea, then had proper camping lunch in the sunshine before heading North (again)... only to get an warning light on the dashboard. As good citizens we pulled over, called Maui Rentals and were directed to the nearest Ford dealership (fortunately in Whangerei). And it started raining.
Anyway, the guys at Ford were very friendly, didn't mind James playing football in the showroom, and couldn't find anything wrong with our van... so off we went again!! 1 hour later we were on the ferry, crossing to Russell and the next Top 10 campsite (on James Street).

It's a great spot, and James loves the trampolines (where he likes to go "Boing"), and only a short stroll to the restaurants on the seafront (kind of like what Parkgate could've been like).

We dined at Sally's and drank Church Road Sauvignon Blanc.
