The weekend is at an end, so it is time to return to normalcy, so to speak.
- Max's and Maker's Mark
- In the event that I did not do it, I wanted to thank my friends
who joined me for some birthday libations at Max's. The Maker's
Mark Manhattans were quite tasty, and I was left feeling nice and
tipsy. Of course, my cold had other intentions and made sure I
was miserable. Thanks to the usual gang, my friend (and old boss
and mentor) C., and to Bonanza Jellybean
for toasting my advancing age. Also, thanks to those who wished
me well and those who tried to make it out but could not. It's
the thought that counts.
- Friday Night Drinks
- Friday night, my friends and I got together at Captain Larry's for drinks. Ahhh, yes, nothing like continuing the Maker's Mark madness with more Manhattans.
- Saturday Errands and Football
- As I had to visit the office on Saturday to swap a tape out for our backups, I also did some grocery shopping at Wegmans
in Hunt Valley. The large crowd was quite annoying, but aside
from that I have to admit that shopping there was not much more
expensive than it would have been at the ghetto Shopper's near me in
Federal Hill. Even better, the produce section was downright
awesome. I bought a head of green leaf lettuce for the first time
in months.
We had a football game in the afternoon that we won, and then sushi at
Nichiban. That was a very good call, actually.
- Football Sunday
- Today, the men's football league I have participated in the
last two years started a new season. Ahhh, yes, nothing like
punishing my body by hurling it at men larger than I. Even
better, let's get up early in the morning and do it. We, of
course, lost the game. Oh well, maybe we will do better next
week.
By the way, watching the Ravens is just an exercise in pain. I
say we play for the Matt Leinart draft pick. Who's with me?
