Apple have just announced
that they have achieved 1m video downloads from the iTunes Store ( can
we really go on calling it the iTunes Music Store? ) in 20 days. This is very impressive. 1m is a lot from a standing start. Also, there is currently only a few TV shows from ABC and these are not available outside the US. So just think what this can do when new Countries, TV Shows, Films, Pay videoPodcasts are added! IIA Appoints new CEO
The Irish Internet Association ( IIA ) has appointed Fergal O'Byrne as new CEO. Fergal has been a leading light in Ireland's Internet sector since day one and I have worked on many Internet projects with him ( including Telecom Internet's first website and Ireland's first dedicated search engine DORAS ) and I was on the original board of his company Webbusters ( now Interactive Return ). So, I am delighted to see Fergal take the job at the IIA. As the Web moves to Web 2.0 - we need strong leadership in the sector and Fergal is the right man to do it! Best of Luck Fergal.
