We saw Nick Broomfield's new film "Ghosts" @ the Egyptian. Amazing piece of work. This is not a documentary as you would expect from Nick, it's a full feature. It is about chinese immigrants living in the UK.

Nick used non actors who were all in this situation and even based it in the same house that they lived in.

After the film, Nick and Ai Qin Lin ( who plays the lead role ) took the stage for a very insightful Q+A. Ai Qin Lin immediately asked the audience "do you understand now what it feels to be and illegal immigrant - the crowd responded instantly with a resounding YES. Very touching stuff. The rest of the QA was very insightful as Nick talked about his transition to features from docs. I asked Ai Qin Lin was it here real son that featured in the film and she said it was in the final scene.

Nick said that he preferred small crews, Digital Cameras and liked the cast to improvise most of the dialogue.
