You can use it like a telephone. Call people on your buddy list, or other land lines. You can call other peoples computers for free, and international land lines for a reduced rate. You need a microphone, and speakers. Seems to have great sound quality and very little lag compared to the first generation internet phones. You can also transfer your contact lists.
