This life is an NPR radio show that is really quite good.
second life is a little too good, reality like crack. Imagine a world with no war, and mostly everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Where the only limits are imagination. You can fly. You can explore or create with only the constraints of mutual respect, the code itself, money and time.
The near future will probably bring full immersion VR. You may have to donate a room your house to it, think the Star Trek holodeck.
Check out this CNet report video about secondlife here.
I broke down and spent the 30 bucks for Audio Hijack. (Mac OSX only?) Which allows you to create files from streaming audio, like from realplayer, windows media player etc. Then I take the files add them into Itunes, and listen to it on my ipod while I do the more mundane tasks.
I've been listening to about 3+ hours a day to podcasts, and it's been fun, informative. I can't understand why I'm the only person excited about this.
