My Image of Digital Cameras Cameras are an addiction I need to be careful around, like good speakers, sailboats, Macintosh computers and anything that runs on batteries. But my trusty old Canon 35mm has finally been overcome by jungle rot. rust and mildew so I was forced to consider replacing it with a digital camera.

A few years back I spent some weeks rambling about Britain meeting my extended family. On my return to Hawaii though, the only pictures worth showing turned out to be the ones I had drawn myself with oil pastels - all the Kodachromes were blurred or faded by a combination of airport x-rays and Guinness Stout. A new digital camera would have allowed me to tell if I was wasting film before it was to late. I could blast off dozens of shots at a time, with no concern for saving shots or film. Embarassing photos could also be deleted before anyone saw them.
