Why it's a good idea to be sober when writing a press release

New iPod Accessories!

Well folks, we've just about reached the far side of what you can plug into an iPod. Bzzzzz

"PodGear™ PodShave"

"A crisp white shaving clip on for iPod™ 3rd & 4th Generation, iPod mini™ (PodShaveLady) and iPod™ Photo."

"No battery required – simply plug and shave!"

"The launch of the PodShave enables iPod users to free their stubble whilst listening to their favourite music, not only this but as the shaving device runs directly from the iPod battery, hairy friends are able to shave almost anywhere – be it in the high street, on the Tube or just relaxing at home. PodShave’s superb design simply clips on to the top of the iPod and gives instant shaving delight, not only this but it collects all loose hair via its vacuum like stubble collector!"

Now you can run down the the battery and vibrate your iPod into component parts while maintaining a fur-free face. The image of a lady touching up her 'bikini-line' with an iPod though suggests the one attachment I hope we never see - at least in public. Hello Kitty will probably make that one. This company also makes a 'Pocket Party' and "Shuffle Pocket Party' so perhaps this isn't so much of a stretch.

Note for fellow collectors of bad copywriting: The PR piece above states that the launch of the PodShave is what enables users to 'free their stubble' which is one hell of a trick. Normally a claim would be made that the actual device does the shaving, but here the mere launch gives you a close one. You'll also note that the superb design clips on top of an iPod. Wow! So you can leave the PodShave at home and the design will shave you. What will they think of next?

PS: ...and what's a "vacuum like" like? Does it suck or just 'suck like'?
