Disney to Release Films for Sony PSP Game Device (Reuters). Reuters - The home video arm of the Walt Disney Co. on Wednesday said it would release movies in the newly-developed UMD format for Sony Corp.'s PlayStation Portable handheld video game and media device. [Yahoo! News: Technology] Now this is going to be cool.  We can already watch movies on our handheld devices (I can watch extensive video on my Palm T-3 using the included software) but it has never been inexpensive or ubiquitous.  That's the trick right?  Maybe cell phone screens will be too small for a sizeable market, but the handheld video game system just might do it.  You think? 11:50:14 PM  comment []
