Really, what gives with all the blogger controversy? Possessing the capability to find the best blog software on the web and typing random thoughts and rants does not make me a journalist! I enjoy searching blogs for people's opinion and maybe some breaking information (we like to post things when we are hot on topic) but I'm not sure that that constitutes journalism? And why does that matter anyways if it is journalism or not? Are weblogs presented to the general public as the unbiased face of truth from the ether? I feel that most of us can discern between an enjoyable and informative site (such as this and this) and CNN. Are you astounded by NPR interviews and talk shows about the "first White House blogger"? The direction of this debate may further branch into podcasting. Podcasting has become very mainstream, and once there are as many podcasts available for consumption as there are weblogs (or at least a lot more than now) people may decide that it's all true and real. Well, it sure is fun and enlightening and fabulous to have available! 12:07:30 AM comment [] |
