Today Mike and I put together his new Athlon 64 3000 ($144 retail box) system!  Since he wanted a small computer, we chose the Shuttle because it had the best price/feature point ($250). Granted it is only the nforce 3 chipset but  That plus 1 gig of corsair ($108)memory, an 80 gb SATA WD HD ($80), and his previous ATI Radeon 9600.  The weak point is of course the video card.  After an initial installation, update, and testing, his 3D Mark 05 score was 1899.  I think that we can tweak that to get closer to 2000.  Of course, when he upgrades his video card that score will jump up.  The real test is going to be how World of Warcraft plays ... we'll know tomorrow night!  Thanks Mike for letting me help you pick this system out to fit your needs and budget.

Total upgrade cost - about $650 with tax.  What a great upgrade!  I am so jealous :)
