I finally decided to dump all my low- quality mp3 and AAC files from itunes. 37 gigs gone. Wiped to zero and slowly rebuilt. Of course I kept my purchased music and a few albums that I no longer own. The rest is all coming in as apple lossless (for ipod compatibility). I also own some DVD Audio which I've been converting to a lossless format using Audio Hijack Pro. Of course, the powebook 12" converts all digital audio (either by up- or down-sampling) to 16 bit using the built in hardware. The goal now is to avoid the built in audio hardware and use a 24/96 or 24/192 firewire audio device. Is it possible to get surround sound on my powerbook? Suggestions? I've been looking at the M-Audio Firewire 410. I was considering the mbox2 but it only has 24/48 output. 1:43:59 AM comment [] Google It! |
