I get sick when I think of the "causes" that the "Religion of Peace" is forwarding everyday. comment []  trackback []

The biggest obstacle I have, as a Jew relating to American Christians, is conveying my position and viewpoint as the double victim of Muslims around the world.  Most American's have never been to Israel and think that video tapes of children learning (in school) that the greatest honor is to kill Jews is hyperbole.  The danger to me and my fellow Jews whether religious, not-religous, or unsure has been emminent most of my life and only apparent to the world now. If we could get this kind of information to people in a real, relatable way things would be different.  I wonder if people that I talk with just can't believe that any people today could be so different from themselves?  I often hear "Palestinians just want peace.  They just want to raise their kids up safe and have a future, like us."  These people (college students, academics, reporters, seemingly everyone) simply ignore the actions that have been going on and the spoken, outright promises to decimate Israel.  I personally don't take that as an idol threat. In regards to myth #2:  If they stop car bombs, kidnappings, executions, beheadings, attacks on their own government, assassinations, oppression of other religions, gang-like black marketing, and anything that we don't consider humane, peaceful, or sane we will continue to defend ourselves.  You don't threaten me and I don't retaliate.  Simple.  We as Jews and/or Israli's (I'm an American Jew) don't want to fight you.  I would much rather have your economy grow (especially the Palestinians who need to become self-sufficient to some extent) and prosper so we can all have better lives.  How many people have to die for backwards, anti-society medieval beliefs?  If that offends you than I am beginning to get through.
