Now this is good news for all of us! Time to bring my bluetooth earpiece to work ... SkypeOut Now Free in U.S. and Canada.
The Skype user must be in the U.S. or Canada at the time of the call (it doesn[base ']t matter where your Skype account is set up), and the outbound call must be to a U.S. or Canadian POTS or mobile phone. Skype calls to U.S. numbers are currently priced at $0.02 per minute. There are lots of other ways to make free calls in the U.S., but none that have no set monthly fee (Vonage has plans at $15/$25 per month, for example). This won[base ']t help people overseas who are using Skype calling into the U.S., but it[base ']s great to see calling fees disappear, one step at a time. comment [] trackback [] |

URGE gives me the urge to vomit. Why doesn't the music industry get it? We want multi-platform compatibility. PC only software, probably in a .wma format (which itunes does not play) is just another distraction on the net. If Microsoft produced Media Player 11 for Macintosh or Linux I wouldn't be so against it but that's not the case. At least with the itunes/ipod model I can play on windows/mac and there are several ipods available. Plenty of freedom and choice. Does anybody know if the specs of the .wma format are as high quality as AAC? I thought that AAC was a superior compression to .mp3 ... Anyways all my CDs are ripped at a Lossless Compression anyways ... which won't play on the Windows Media Player at all. MTV, Microsoft launch URGE music service this week. MTV and Microsoft are set to take on Apple's market leading iTunes Music Store with their own URGE music store. comment [] trackback [] |
