I've been using Google Apps for My Domain for a week now and it's pretty slick. The biggest draw for me is the google spam filter. Although, until I started using gmail originally I didn't get so much spam as I do now so I'm not sure if I havne't just propogated the circle further. I like the concept of online apps but find that I never really need to use them. However, gmail is a great and flexible system and that was the draw for me. My home computer connects with pop so I can use gpg when needed and I can get email via the web anytime. I can't really imagine migrating to an online office environment for day to day use unless I was using borrowed machines like at the library or a loaner laptop of some sort.
An online office would have been a great help to me when i started my undergrad program at University of Phoenix. At that time I didn't really buy into the whole office suite mentality and was kind of "on-the-out" when all my assignments were due in word, powerpoint, and excel. |

Biking in PV was one of my early obsessions. I used to off-road bike about 10 years ago the horse trails are great. Just to chime in about the weather I ran about 8 miles yesterday in the river bed near my house in Santa Fe Springs. It was 88 and all sun. Hot I tell you. You (LGF guy) must get that nice ocean breeze!
I didn't know we were neighbors .... |
