New Years' resolutions are a funny thing. Everyone knows they don't stick. Why don't resolutions work?
Maybe it's because the concept that "I resolve to do..." or "I resolve to be..." doesn't take the real life context into account. Trying to superimpose this new resolution on an existing life context is nice, but it's also very difficult.
A better way might be to make resolutions about priorities. Priorities guide action but they don't prescribe it. Priorities help you make decisions in the moment.
I'll try it out and let you know how it goes.
