Everything we hope for is 'in your heart and on your lips you only h ave to carry it out,' as Moses told the Chosen poeple.
Jesus challenges me daily to stay tuned to his indwelling presence, the accompanying presence of the 'communion of saints,' and the daily trials that seek to keep us from the narrow way he has chosen for me. Only trusting and loving prayer thru the Holy Spirit will give us what we need.
'Many will come in my name and say, 'I am he.' do not follow them. Will I know when those 'others' who are not the Lord will come to me today and try to convince me that, 'I am he.' but they are not. I have fallen in the past: as a child, an infant, an adolescent, an adult; even today, maybe. How have things changed? Can I count on my own powers to see me thru? Jesus, help me when I am in trouble. 'Answer me, O God when I call.' [Ps. 4:1]
