Show #14: Airport friendly shoes, some humour and a tune for Father's Day.

A mixed show done in the studio this week, with a random collection of ideas and music. I profile some music from the CBC site rootsmusiccanada.com and provide links to several of the artists whose music is included in this podcast. It's an amazing site, full of flash animated menus and streaming music from hundreds of Canadian musicians. Not necessarily podsafe, but if you like what you hear, buy the album and you can support the artists that way.

Music in this podcast from:

  • Sark (DOGU) of Toronto (Opening music) on GarageBand.com
  • Kate Maki of Sudbury, Ontario (Many Thanks) also found on rootsmusiccanada.com
  • Doug Cox of Cumberland, B.C. (My Father) also found on rootsmusiccanada.com
  • Blackie and the Rodeo Kings of Vancouver, B.C. (Water or Gasoline) also found on rootsmusiccanada.com

You might also want to check out the website for the Island Music Fest scheduled for July 8, 9, 10. It's an amazing festival, widely acclaimed as the best in the western Canada. I plan to do a soundseeing podcast when I attend in two weeks, but before that, next weekend I'll be covering the Tall Ships Festival with a soundseeing tour and photos next weekend. Watch/listen for both shows in the coming weeks.

Happy listening, and send a me a comment if you have any feedback or suggestions.
